Part-time transition consultation

Build a complete proposal for reducing your contractual hours and presenting a workable distribution across the week.

The result

You leave with a written consultation summary that sets out your target weekly hours, preferred distribution, earliest realistic start date, operational points to address and a fallback position. The session helps you prepare your own workplace conversation and correspondence.

What we cover

  • your current contracted hours and the reduction you are considering;
  • how the proposed days or time windows affect meetings, coverage and handovers;
  • the reasons you want to disclose—and those you prefer to keep private;
  • the timing and structure of a clear written request;
  • likely employer questions and calm, specific responses;
  • points that should be checked with a German employment-law specialist or your works council.

What is included

The fee includes a short preparation questionnaire, the 90-minute consultation and a concise written action summary sent within two business days. One clarification email within seven days is also included.

This is independent practical guidance. It does not include legal representation, a binding assessment of statutory entitlement, contacting your employer, drafting a lawyer’s letter or attending internal meetings on your behalf.

How the appointment works

  1. Before the session: send your current weekly pattern, preferred new pattern, intended timing and any non-sensitive correspondence that frames the discussion.
  2. During the session: test the proposal against the actual rhythm of your role. We identify gaps and rehearse a clear opening.
  3. After the session: receive your action summary, revise your request and decide whether specialist legal advice is needed before submission.

Preparation and limits

Do not send medical records, payroll credentials or unrelated personal documents. If a deadline, dismissal risk, discrimination concern or active dispute is involved, say so in your initial message. We may recommend legal counsel before any consultation proceeds.

Appointments are available in Frankfurt am Main or by video. In-person appointments require advance confirmation. The €185 fee applies to one employee and one employment situation.
